Funniest story in your casino career
In 1974, while I was dealing at the Sahara Tahoe, an interesting thing happened. There was a player in the #1 seat, who I worked with that had been playing Hold'em all night. When I sat in the box, he was telling me how many times he had Aces and Kings cracked. He told me that every time he lost with them he crumpled them up and shoved them down the box.
The very next hand I dealt him 2 Aces and he got them cracked again. He then crumpled them up and shoved them down the drop slot. We were dealing paper cards at the time. He continued to steam and then dropped his lit Pall Mall down my drop slot.
Well, in about 5 minutes smoke started billowing out of the drop slot opening. He then called the floorman over and said "Hey look, this dealer is dealing so fast the chips are smoking on the way down." We then dropped a glass of water down the slot to cure the problem.
