Review - Bally's Poker Room

Total Rating: 2.55

Room Quality Rating: 2
Bally's poker room isn't much of a "room", per se. That's because the poker tables are smack in the middle of the casino floor. Bally's is not the poker room to visit if you're looking for an intimate and/or quiet poker environment.

Bally's poker room is loud. Of course there are craps tables and slot machines nearby, but there is also a small bar right next to the poker tables, and a live music lounge not too far away. It's a pretty lively environment -- as you would expect in any wide open casino floor in Vegas.

The poker tables are new, and high quality. There are also (2) 30" televisions above the poker room that about half the players can see.

Competition Rating: 4
The poker players at Bally's are terrible. I haven't logged a ton of hours at Bally's, probably around 25 to 30 hours spread across several sessions. However, I can safely say that Bally's really attracts poor and inexperienced poker players. I have seen abnormally bad players at each game Bally's offers: 2/4, 4/8, and No Limit Hold'em. I can't identify what makes the players consistently so weak, but over time -- this should be a pretty good thing for any average to above-average low limit player.

Dealer Rating: 3
The dealers at Bally's poker room are not very memorable, so I'm rating them average.

Cocktail Rating: 4
If I had to rate the Bally's cocktail waitresses solely on attractiveness, I would rate them a 1. These women are not hot. Most are older (we're talking like grandma old), and their outfits are hideous. How hideous? Just picture a prom dress circa 1940.

But, what these women lack in the good looks department they make up for in sheer speed. These ladies are LIGHTNING fast! I mean, smoking fast! They're so fast because the bar where the drinks are made is about 5 feet from the poker tables. This means that even grandma cocktail waitress becomes a speed demon.

If you're playing poker to get drunk, then Bally's poker room is the place to do it. Nothing beats this place in terms of speed of service.

Management Rating: 3
Nothing noteworthy in terms of the management's personality. The poker room does not have a computer screen that displays the waitlist for each game (which I like), but the management still does a pretty good job of managing the list.
