Smoking Allowed: No Review - Mirage Poker Room Total Rating: 3.90 Room Quality Rating: 5 The card room is well lit and kept in superb condition with a very professional atmosphere. Once the nicest card room in Las Vegas, today I consider it second only to the Bellagio. Competition Rating: 2 The competition in the Mirage is some of the toughest in town, even at the low-limit tables. In fact, many people consider the 6-12 Texas Hold'em game at the mirage the toughest game in town. Despite the number of poker professionals that play at the Mirage, the games are certainly beatable, even for average poker players, because of the large quantity of tourists that the Mirage poker room attracts. There are some people who are horrible at poker who will sit down and dump a few hundred bucks at a 3-6 game without blinking an eye. The Mirage does attract a more well-to-do crowd. This is what makes the Mirage poker room one of the best in town. However, the problem is that when that horrible player doesn't sit down and dump his or her money at your table, you're in for a long ride. The chances are you're up against some pretty decent competition at the Mirage poker room. Dealer Rating: 4 Because the Mirage is considered one of the fancier poker rooms in town, I think players are less likely to get a dealer fresh out of poker dealing school. Cocktail Rating: 4 Don't play poker at the Mirage poker room if your goal is to get a few quick beers. When the room is crowded (which is most of the time), the service is slow. However, there are more than a few lookers serving drinks, so I'm more than happy to accept slower service if I have something pretty to look at! Management Rating: 5 The room deals with a lot of players, and the management works the list very well. Comps Rating: 2 The Mirage doesn't offer much to its players by way of freebies. However, there are a few golden nuggets. - $15 food voucher: This is a voucher good at most of the restaurants in the Mirage, including the California Pizza Kitchen. To get the voucher, you have to play for about 4 hours, and you have to ask a manager. They won't volunteer this voucher unless you ask for it. |
